Over 300 troops from the Air Logistics Command and the 600th Air Base Group of the Philippine Air Force, participated in the Bases Conversion and Development Authority’s (BCDA) Stakeholder Relations Forum on the Role of BCDA in the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held at the Officers Clubhouse, Philippine Air Force, Clark Air Base, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga last August 25, 2017.  

Philippine Air Force (PAF) officials led by BGen. Erickson Gloria, Deputy Commander of the Air Logistics Command, who represented MGen. Arnold Mancita, Commander of the Air Logistics Command, thanked BCDA for reaching out to the Philippine Air Force and presenting to officers and enlisted PAF soldiers, the total proceeds generated for the modernization program of the armed forces, including updates in the relocation of AFP facilities, and masterplanning former military camps into premier economic hubs.

BCDA also presented its big-ticket projects in Clark including the expansion of the Clark International Airport, and the construction of New Clark City—a new world-class metropolis which will offer efficient mass transportation system, mixed-income housing, food processing, terminal, government centers, and a sports city.

BCDA is created by Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act of 1992) to transform former military camps into economic centers of growth. Since 1992, BCDA has generated P82.06 billion from the disposition of former Metro Manila camps. Of the said amount, 42 percent or Php 34.24 billion was remitted to the National Treasury for the AFP Modernization Program.
